About Sinead Maynard — Elite Eventer & Team USA Selector

About Sinead Maynard. From South Carolina to the World Stage. Born and raised in Irmo, South Carolina, Sinead Halpin Maynard's journey into the equestrian world began with her Irish heritage. Her early career saw her training with Canadian Olympian Stuart Black in Middleburg, Virginia. At just 19, she made her CCI3* debut on New Zealand Thoroughbred "Cruizin On." Sinead went on to work with William Fox-Pitt in England and David and Karen O'Connor, before forming her legendary partnership with Manoir de Carneville ("Tate"), a Selle Francais gelding who became the USEF 2012 Horse of Honor. Together, they amassed six four-star completions, five trips across the Atlantic, and a record-setting 2nd place finish at Burghley — the highest American finish in 18 years. Career Highlights: 1999 — Advanced Competitor. 2005 — National Champion at Radnor. 2010 — Nations Cup Silver in Holland. 2011 — Rolex Kentucky CCI5* 3rd place, highest-placed American. 2012 — 2nd at Burghley CCI5*. 2014 — World Equestrian Games in Normandy.
